Physical therapy is fun and fun is therapeutic: a magical horse experience
By providing a warm and supportive environment, we help children and their families achieve their goals and dreams through activities and therapies with horses. Is an intensive 10-day program, - 3 hours day - it features one-on-one horse sessions with a trained therapist (American Hippotherapy certified Board), to meet each participant?s individual needs and strengths.
The relationship developed throughout the 10 days with the horses can provide increased self-esteem, increased attention, increased commitment to and trust of others, and increased motivation to continue attempting new tasks. This is offered all year round. Children from 4 to 12 years, with cerebral palsy, Developmental Delay, Genetic Syndromes, sensory Integration Disorders, Stroke, abnormal muscle tone, Impaired balance responses, Impaired coordination.It?s a wonderful restorative experience for the entire family. Siblings and parents also have the opportunity for horse experiences. FTAC can assist families in finding hotel accommodations at special rates in Barcelona area and A Horse Time-Out trip to Fundació Terapia a Cavall is more than therapy and fun for the child with special needs.
Facilities and observations
Facilities include an outdoor track measuring 20 x 40 m, an indoor track, a sensory trail, a horse mounting ramp, a lifting crane, adapted and safety equipment, an office and an assessment and physiotherapy room.
